Woman Key Wildlife Management Area

This island located within the Key West National Wildlife Refuge is 13 miles west of Key West just east of Boca Grande. Clear, shallow-water flats border an extensive south-facing beach and dunes. A 15-acre no entry zone is present along the eastern half of the beach and extends 300 feet offshore to protect wildlife. Loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) nest on the beach and dunes. Several species of wading birds also nest in the area and a large number of shorebirds use the sand spits on the southeast side of the island.

Special regulations apply here. Learn more about what activities are allowed in this type of zone.
