Red Bay Bank Wildlife Management Area

Red Bay Bank Wildlife Management Area is an area north of the Seven Mile Bridge in shallow water ranging in depth from 1-7 feet. A zig-zagged zone of 593 acres has been designated idle speed in order to protect seagrass and hard-bottom habitat that support a diverse assemblage of corals, sponges, macroalgae, and many juvenile fish species prior to their movement to the coral reefs. The banks and associated channels are difficult to locate and susceptible to boat groundings, as evidenced by light-to-severe propeller scarring.

Special regulations apply here. Learn more about what activities are allowed in this type of zone.
