Pelican Key Wildlife Management Area

On the bayside at Mile Marker 98 in Key Largo, a mangrove island near the residential community of Buccaneer Point Estates is home to shallow seagrasses, manatees, and roosting and wading birds, including magnificent frigatebirds and pelicans. A teardrop-shaped no entry zone, 23 acres in size, has been drawn around the island, designed to decrease disturbance to wildlife and habitat, which exhibit light-to-severe propeller scarring.

Special regulations apply here. Learn more about what activities are allowed in this type of zone.
