Crocodile Lake Wildlife Management Area

Located along the eastern shore of Card Sound, this area has the most extensive stands of tropical hardwood hammocks in the United States. At 1.08 square miles in size, Crocodile Lake Wildlife Management Area harbors a number of threatened and endangered species, including the American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) and West Indian manatee (Trichechus manatus latirostris).

There is a 300 foot no entry buffer zone along the shoreline. There is an exception for access to Steamboat Creek.
