East Bahia Honda Key Wildlife Management Area
East Bahia Honda Key is a small island located approximately 7 miles north-northeast of the well-known Bahia Honda Key that is home to Bahia Honda State Park. The island is not connected to any other islands by bridges. This 52-acre no motor zone is in place to decrease disturbance of nesting and/or foraging birds, including white-crowned pigeons, reddish egrets, and great white herons. Shallow seagrass flats exhibit light-to-severe prop scarring, and the no motor zone aims to prevent further disturbance of seagrass habitat.
Special regulations apply here. Learn more about what activities are allowed in this type of zone.
