Mooring Buoy Operations Technician

Josh comes to the sanctuary with a unique background as a U.S. Army flight paramedic/combat medic, and retired firefighter paramedic, offering a unique skill set for the mooring buoy team. Over the past five years, Harvey received his dive instructor and specialty instructor certifications, crewed the sanctuary’s research vessel, and helped lead citizen science invasive species removals. Harvey is a NOAA divemaster as well as a NOAA DMT and hyperbaric chamber operator. He comes to the Keys from the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary research team where he served as a mooring buoy specialist and research diver.
